K12 Teacher Hackathon

  • Center for Civic Innovation 115 Martin Luther King Junior Drive Southwest #200 Atlanta, GA 30303 (map)

Facing an issue in elementary STEM education? Interested in learning how to weave coding into the K12 classroom? Want to support teachers as they learn to code? Join K12 teachers from Atlanta and beyond for two computing challenges:

  • Elementary school teachers use Computational Thinking to identify a problem in elementary education and rapid design a solution. No coding experience necessary!

  • Middle and high school teachers square off to see who can build the best website as they learn to use CSS libraries in web design for the first time. Minimal HTML and CSS experience required to participate.

Teachers from all grade levels will be building their design and tech skills to bring back to the K12 classroom, with help from honorCode and the tech community. Come and participate, or just observe to see frameworks for weaving critical future workforce skills into the classroom. Industry professionals looking to support K12 computer science education are encouraged and welcomed!
