Marsha E. Francis, Ph.D., is Program Specialist in Talent Management at Fulton County Schools. Dr. Francis received a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development at Spelman College and a PhD in Educational Theory and Practice with a focus on teacher development and elementary science education from the University of Georgia. Her dissertation explored raced and gendered lived science experiences of Black female elementary pre-service teachers and how those experiences shaped their identities as teachers of elementary science. She is an educator with a wide range of experiences from spanning teaching in public schools, assisting innovative educational nonprofits and teacher development in higher education. Her current work supports teacher candidates in Fulton County Schools, ensuring that their clinical teaching experiences are fruitful and their teaching practices continuously expand.
